My Favourite Online Stores
Ok, I thought I would compile a short list of some of the online stores I have used and been very pleased with.
Aquatics Online UK - Ordered an Arcadia T5 reflector on 15 April to be delivered by 1st class Royal Mail, delivered today 16 April. They also stock Dupla products, which I have found to be excellent in the past. *****
Aqua Essentials - Ordered a limewood diffuser and a large tub of flake food from them to be delivered by 1st class Royal Mail 15 April, delivered 16 April. Very highly rated on other forums and sites. They are also one of the few UK stockists for ADA glassware etc. *****
The Lightbulb Shop - Not strictly speaking an aquatics supplier, but ordered 2 Osram T5 daylight tubes from them that are just as good as aquarium daylight tubes at a fraction of the price, order placed 15 April to be delivered by 1st class recorded delivery, received tubes intact 16 April! A really excellent source for your aquarium lighting tubes. *****
Fantasea Aquatics - Ordered 2 tubes from them by next day courier, arrived intact. Excellent customer service, answering the telephone at 7pm at night, however there stock is a little limited, but they are one of the few supplier for ZooMed aquarium tubes. ****
Swell UK - Good variety of stock, but their delivery was a little on the slow side, taking more than a week. Also the first flourescent bulb I received from them arrived in tiny pieces and was poorly packed. However after phoning their customer services a replacement tube was dispatched and arrived 2 days later without having to return the broken tube. ***
Greenline Aquatic Plants - A good source of plants, the proprietor is very helpful and the plants are for the most part healthy when they arrive. ****
Java Aquarium Planting - Again a good variety of plants. However the last lot I ordered from them came plastered in Duckweed. Also quite a few negative comments about very slow delivery on the forums. ***
